"Best Practices in Hyperion Planning Data Integration: Harvard University Case Study" Conference Slides

This Performance Architects presentation demonstrates how Performance Architects worked with Harvard University to develop a data and hierarchy management strategy to resolve the issues of extracting, transforming and loading data from the data warehouse into the Oracle Hyperion planning, reporting and analysis solution. The result was a data integration model that created a centralized “hub” to centralize and share hierarchies and data across 20+ Planning applications and 40 Essbase cubes. This centralized store provides standardized information for the planning process, and at the same time allows decentralized and unique planning approaches by each planning organization. This new data management model and process has dramatically reduced manual intervention in the planning process, and has drastically shortened the time-to-information during the planning process as well.
