How to Install the Oracle BI Administration Tool in Five Easy Steps
First, go to the Oracle website and find the latest version of the Oracle Business Intelligence downloads page link (currently Version 220.127.116.11.0). Scroll to the bottom of the list of downloadable files until you see the one labeled “Oracle Business Intelligence Client Tool”. This client tool is where the admin tool resides in the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) install:
Before clicking on the download, make sure to accept to the OTN License Agreement at the top of the page. Next, the installer will prompt you for your username and password for your Oracle account. If you do not have one, there is a button that allows you to create one.
Unzip the folder that has been downloaded. There should be a “setup.exe” file that is used to install the client tool:
Run the application to begin the install:
Click “Next” and you will then be prompted to determine where you would like the install the client tool. It is normally best to have an Oracle folder for all of your Oracle products:
Click “Next” and the page will display the details of where the client tool is going to be installed. Click ”Install” if it all looks correct.
The installation takes a few minutes. When it is complete, click “Finish.” Now go to the “Start” menu, search for “Administration,” and find the “Admin” tool. Open the tool to ensure that the install has worked correctly:
After successfully installing the Admin tool, this will be the program that is used to create, open, and modify RPD files.
