I’ll bet this is the first time you’ve ever seen the phrases “financial planning and analysis (FP&A)” and “cool” and “blow your mind” in the same sentence. At least I caught your attention! And, actually, the new Association of Financial Professionals (AFP) FINnext 2018 event is, as far as things go in our somewhat staid profession, pretty cool.
FINnext is AFP’s inaugural conference focused on defining the future of finance and will be held at the Grand Hyatt San Francisco . Topics include technology trends such as cloud, adaptive intelligence, predictive modeling and machine learning, as well as perennial “what’s old is new again” functional trends such as rolling forecasting, zero-based budgeting (ZBB), and “the end of budgeting.” As an added benefit, the event offers continuing professional education (CPE) credits for attendance.
I’m excited to be presenting on “Financial Modeling On The Cloud: Defying Gravity To Gravitate Towards The Clouds” on Monday, March 18 at 10:45 AM. There are three great keynote presenters who will be speaking on the art and science of forecasting and prediction, as well as a jam-packed agenda with additional topics such as how to create a finance roadmap; how to deal with constant volatility; and how data visualization relates to the FP&A profession.
Are you attending the event? Leave us a note and let us know so that we can look for you at the conference!
